Born in Havana, Cuba, to René García Núñez, an attorney, and Amelie Menéndez, an English teacher, Andy García and his family moved to Miami in the ’60s. While in college, he discovered an interest in acting and decided to pursue a career in Hollywood. You may probably recognize him portraying serious roles in films, with his most notable character as Vincent Corleone in The Godfather film franchise. Garcia got his big break in Francis Ford Coppola’s masterpiece, and since then, he has attained critical and box office success in his other roles.
García married Marivi Lorido, a former model whom he met while in college. They dated for seven years before uniting in matrimony in 1982. The couple has four kids together, three of whom are trying their luck in show business as actresses. The family of six divide their time between Key Biscayne, Florida, and Toluca Lake, Los Angeles.
