Actress Cate Blanchett has been married to Andrew Upton, an Australian writer, for 24 years now. The couple has been very happy with their time together and with their growing family. They now have a total of four kids together: Dashiell who is 19, Roman Robert who is 16, Ignatius who is 12, and Edith Vivian Patricia, their adoptive daughter who is 5. Their love story began in Sydney, Australia where they were both acting in a stage play.

They did not like each other at the time. However, in 1996, they met again on the set of a TV show and things changed for the better in their relationship. They had only been dating for three weeks when the smitten Upton popped the question to Blanchett. She tried to cook him dinner that night and it did not turn out well, but he was still very much in love as he was already prepared with a ring. That ring might have cost him his investment money, but it was completely worth it! The couple got married in 1997 right when Blanchett got casted for Elizabeth.
