The couple keeps their relationship low-key, yet the influential entrepreneur is a force to be reckoned with. Shevell is the daughter of Myron Shevell, the trucking business leader who bought New England Motor Freight in 1977 and folded it into The Shevell Group. Shevell graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in transportation. She followed in his footsteps, joining the family company and eventually sitting on the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s board of directors. It is unclear how they met. But, reports say that everything started because of famed news anchor Barbara Walters, Shevell’s second cousin.
